About

Lucy Watts

Yuile Street Studio

Lucy Watts is a Melbourne-based printmaker and painter working from her home studio in Ashburton. She creates acrylic paintings and original linocut prints inspired by light, domestic interiors and the natural world.

Her work often draws on familiar, everyday subjects—flowers, vessels and interior spaces—exploring the quiet beauty of objects and places that are easily overlooked. A recurring influence is the leadlight windows of Melbourne homes, where shifting light and pattern create a sense of atmosphere, memory and stillness.

Each piece begins as a hand-carved lino block and is printed using a traditional etching press. The process is slow and tactile, with subtle variations between prints that reflect the handmade nature of the work.

Alongside her exhibition work, Lucy produces a collection of handprinted greeting cards and limited edition prints. Her cards are stocked in a range of independent retailers across Melbourne, Sydney and regional Victoria.

Lucy has exhibited in group exhibitions and is preparing for her first solo exhibition at Boroondara Town Hall Gallery in August 2026.
